The Addington Fund is a unique rural, registered charity which offers strategic housing to tenant farmers who wish to retire, affordable rural housing to agriculturists who wish to remain in rural locations and help to younger farmers to set up sound businesses in the countryside to make it more sustainable and to stop rural depopulation. Addington also operates a grant giving arm which offers assistance to farmers in need, on a case by case basis when the need arises.
Following the appointment of a new CEO the Addington Fund is now looking to expand and lay the footings for expansion in order to help more rural families post Brexit. We are thus looking for two new key members of staff to be based at our Barford office near Warwick.
Marketing and Events Manager
This is a key full time appointment for the Fund as we move our marketing and events functions back in house by the end of the year. It is an exciting and varied role to increase awareness of the Addington Fund through events, shows, promotional literature, publications and the use of the Internet and social media with the aim of increasing:
- positive awareness and
- the gross worth of the charity.
The position will thus involve travel throughout the UK to organise and attend shows, fund raising activities including the expanding Farm Business Awards currently organised by the Fund. It will appeal to a vibrant, energetic self-starter who has the drive and enthusiasm to up the profile of the charity.
In return for the right candidate the charity will offer a competitive salary of £30-£35k, excellent pension and private health scheme with fully re-reimbursed travelling expenses.
Operations and Marketing Assistant
We are looking for someone with the necessary drive and commitment to work 30 hours a week (5 x 6 hours a day) to assist the CEO in his day to day duties and bridge the gap between operations and the marketing function in the Barford office.
The ideal candidate will have a good attention to detail, good IT skills and a pleasant telephone manner and be prepared to learn and use the various office systems employed. In addition, they will become a key point of contact for our trustees, tenants, stakeholders and contractors alike.
Assisting the newly recruited Marketing and Events Manager will also be an important part of the role. This will involve running events, producing high quality literature, upping social media presence and attending shows.
The salary on offer for this important position will work out between £25k – £30k pro-rata with excellent pension and other associated benefits.
