We are pleased to announce a revised date for the 2018 Cornwall Farm Business Awards and apologise to our sponsors and supporters for the confusion caused by the delay of this news, and would like to thank you for bearing with us.
The Awards have been rescheduled for Thursday 26 April 2018 and will recognise the individuals, families and companies for their ability and contribution to Cornish agriculture.
Whatever the outcome of the Brexit negotiations our farm businesses will continue to increase in complexity, become more automated and require more capital. The key factor in the business will still be the people. The Cornwall Farm Business Awards came about as a concern for farming people and the lack of recognition for individuals and families who constantly have to adapt and develop their businesses to meet the requirements of an ever demanding food sector. Then there are the individuals who give their time to help others in the Cornish farming community and beyond the Tamar. Cornwall is a major ‘food industry’ with lorries constantly travelling up the A30 before spreading across the UK.
Innovation at farm level has developed an array of wonderful foods. The most exciting aspect of farming in Cornwall is the amazing ability of the next generation of farmers. Our Awards evening at the Royal Cornwall Showground has been rescheduled for Thursday 26th April 2018.
You can contribute by telling us about a friend or neighbour who is doing an amazing job. Every category is still open for nominations and self-nominations are very welcome.
