Another generous donation from the NFU Mutual Charitable Trust to support our work

The COVID-19 year has been a difficult year for everybody, not least agricultural charities. The Addington Fund, like many other charities under the Farming Help umbrella, is truly grateful to the NFU Mutual Charitable Trust who have made three major donations which have enabled us to carry on as normal and respond to the increase in demand for our help and services.

Not only have the donations made up for our complete lack of fundraising in the last 12 months but they have enabled the Addington Fund to make ambitious plans for the future. The demand for retirement homes and rural housing is sure to rise, as is the calls for help from individual farmers.

Addington Fund Chief Executive, Bill Young, commented “Thanks to the NFU Mutual Charitable Trust we now have a magnificent platform to take the charity to the next stage. We are now in the enviable position to be able to help more farmers than ever before with retirement homes, disaster relief, affordable rural houses and new entrants into farming. There is no doubt that we are in challenging times but our mission to help viable farms stay on their feet has never been so well focused and funded. I feel sure that many farmers will be able to look back on this decade not only as the decade of change but also one of opportunity. If the Addington Fund is seen as one of the facilitators to help farmers adapt to the times ahead, we are succeeding in our goals”.

We are truly grateful to the NFU Mutual Charitable Trust for their wonderful support.
