Support our work
We are privileged to receive support from a wide range of charitable trusts - some providing transformative one-off grants, others choosing to support us regularly with annual donations. Every contribution, regardless of size, plays a vital role in sustaining our work.
Our Trustees are deeply grateful for every grant we receive. We warmly invite your Trust to consider supporting Addington Fund to help us continue delivering meaningful, long-term support to farming families in need.
We recognise that grant-making charities continue to operate in a challenging financial environment. While market conditions have improved in some areas, many trusts still face constraints on income from investments. Whilst we acknowledge this backdrop, your support is more valuable than ever - enabling us to provide stability, security and hope to those who depend on us.
Grant-giving charities have been badly affected since the financial crash in 2008, as many rely on dividends from shares and interest from cash investments that allow them to award grants to charities like ours. Dividends may have increased but interest rates remain very subdued. In these circumstances, every donation we receive is even more precious.
Grant criteria
Every trust has its own priorities and funding criteria, and we are very happy to collaborate with you to help check the alignment of our work with your objectives.
Although we operate across England and Wales, we can also tailor funding to specific areas or projects. For example, we have trusts who support our work in specific, restricted geographical areas.
We welcome the opportunity to shape funding that meets your Trust’s priorities while delivering real impact, as required, on the ground.
A sustainable approach
Since launching our Retirement Housing Scheme in 2002, we have seen first-hand how the families we support often rely on us for the long term. This brings with it a responsibility to ensure our work is sustainable far into the future.
To achieve this, we are committed to covering our core operating costs through our own income wherever possible. This approach means that grant funding can be directed where it is needed most - supporting frontline services and helping more farming families rebuild their lives.
Investing carefully in impact
Our small, dedicated team enables us to deliver high-quality support while remaining efficient and focused.
We are careful to maintain a lean structure, but investment in skilled staff is essential if we are to expand our reach and respond to growing need within the farming community.
Support towards staffing and core costs is therefore particularly valuable, helping us strengthen our capacity while ensuring that the maximum possible funding reaches those we support.
You can make all the difference
The scale of need within the farming community remains significant, and we are continually seeking partners who share our commitment to helping those facing hardship.
Your Trust’s support could make a lasting difference - whether through a strategic grant, ongoing partnership, or funding for a specific project or region.
In addition to trust funding, we also welcome support through legacies, corporate partnerships and individual giving. You can find more information on these methods on their specific pages of our website, or please contact Jo to discuss how you can support us.
Together, we can ensure that farming families facing hardship are not left behind.
