The show must go on!

It goes without saying that the pandemic has had an affect on everyone, one way or another, over the last 16 months. Whether it’s affected your work life, home life or both and more, we truly feel what you’ve been going through.

As a charity that has always relied on physical events to fundraise, it has put a halt on everything we would usually do throughout our typical Addington year. Like most, we’ve felt great sadness not being able to not only raise money for the fund but to bring joy to those who attend our events too.

Fortunately there is light at the end of the tunnel. After the Government announcement on Monday 14 June, we are extremely relieved to hear that the Devon County Show has permission to continue as planned, which means we are also still able to host our exclusive “Celebrating 20 Years of the Addington Fund” event on Thursday 1st July, the night before the Devon County Show itself.

To adhere to the Government guidelines and to ensure maximum safety with social distancing, this event is smaller than our usual events that we host and consists of Addington guests only because of limited numbers.

We have two very special awards to give out on the night, so we still can celebrate agriculture and those who deserve recognition during 2021 without the pandemic stealing their thunder. We may not be able to host our traditional Devon Farm Business Awards but that does not mean we have forgotten about those who have worked the hardest through such a challenging time. We very much look forward to seeing our Addington VIP guests for a lovely drinks reception and canapés next month.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our event sponsors listed below:

Cornish Mutual - Principal Sponsor

PKF Francis Clark - Drinks Sponsor

and UK Agriculture Finance Ltd , the NFU & NatWest for their raffle prize donations.

We are truly looking forward to our first event since lockdown last year and ‘Celebrating 20 Years of the Addington Fund’ on Thursday 1st July.
