Whins Farm is a rare and exciting opportunity to rent and manage a Farm Business Tenancy, commencing September 2026. Nestled at the foot of the Howgill Fells, on the edge of the North Yorkshire Dales National Park, Whins Farm is a traditional upland hill farm in one of the country’s most picturesque landscapes.
Addington Fund took ownership of Whins Farm in 2025 after being left a gift of money in the Will of the late Mary Blades. Mary stated in her Will that she wished her farm to be sold to a “keen and enthusiastic young farmer” and Addington stepped in when no suitable buyer could be found.
The property, which is still undergoing renovation works by the charity, is being offered as a starter farm for a New Entrant, providing an excellent foundation for those seeking to establish and develop their own agricultural enterprise in an outstanding rural setting.
Whins Farm is part of the charity’s New Entrant Grant Scheme that was launched last year. This scheme is made up of New Entrant Grants and Starter Farms, that support individuals who are entering or have entered farming within the past five years.
Sue English, Fund Director, said “We feel very privileged that we can keep Whins Farm actively farming and provide a first step for an individual coming into farming the opportunity to get their feet on the ladder”.
Applications for the tenancy of Whins farm are strictly being managed by the letting agent GSC Grays.
To find out more information about how to view Whins Farm and how to apply for the tenancy please contact on 01524 880320 or visit their website for further information.
