Alastair is a member of the New Entrant Grant panel and joined as a Trustee in 2026.

A dairy farmer’s son from Cheshire, Alastair has been in the livestock market industry for over 30 years.

After a decade as senior auctioneer and manager of Bletsoes’ livestock markets in Thrapston and Stratford-upon-Avon, and having previously served as LAA Chairman for a two-year term of office from 2022 - 2024, Alastair joined the LAA in 2025 as Policy & Strategy Officer.  Within this role, Alastair supports the Executive Secretary in all aspects of strategy and collaborative working, while also representing the interests of both livestock markets and farmers, in the application and development of policy negotiations with Government and associated trade bodies.
