Addington Fund helps farming family after farmer loses foot to sepsis

Couple looking across the sea…

Sarah Hosking (an Addington Fund tenant) spoke to BBC Radio Cornwall recently about how the Addington Fund helped her and her husband, James, after he lost half his foot due to sepsis.

Due to James being unable to work because of his operation, Sarah had to work on other farms to pay farm workers to do the work she couldn’t do on her own farm…

“We struggled on and on trying to carry on on our farm because we had no where else to go and paying the rent, paying the bills, it was exhausting” Sarah said. “James’ health was poor, I was doing 70 - 80 hours a week on and off the farm and trying to look after James, it was horrific.”

Sarah and James Hosking had a visit from Edward Richardson (Farm Cornwall) who pointed them in the right direction to ask for help. Sarah and James got in touch with us here at the Addington Fund and the rest is history…
