The nomination process for the Addington Fund Cornwall Farm Business Awards is now OPEN!

If you think you have what it takes or you know someone who could be Cornwall’s Farmer of the Year 2023, then what are you waiting for? Nominate yourself or someone you know into as many of the farming categories as you like, and see if you are shortlisted into the final stages of the awards.

The awards have been running for 14 years, discovering and celebrating many amazing Cornish agriculturalists along the way but without our loyal supporters and sponsors, celebrating our incredible Cornish farmers would not be possible.

Peter Beaumont, Managing Director of Cornish Mutual, this year’s Principal and Category Sponsor, says: “The Cornwall Farm Business Awards are always a great celebration of the county’s farming successes and a highlight of the agricultural year.

“I never cease to be amazed by the achievements of farmers in Cornwall, particularly in these testing times. The introduction of our Best Sustainable Farming Initiative category last year expanded the awards to highlight some impressive examples of how farmers are building business resilience in the face of climate change.

“As Principal sponsor, we remain committed to both the farming community and the vital work done by the Addington Fund to make a positive difference in so many lives.”

Bill Young, CEO of the Addington Fund says: “Agriculturally Cornwall is, in my opinion, the most diverse region in the UK and it is hard to find crops or livestock enterprises that are not covered in this fantastic farming county.

“By coincidence, it is the Addington Fund’s largest county, not only in terms of houses provided and grants given but also in terms of funds raised and consequently our staff spend a great deal of time in Cornwall. So, when it came to setting up regional farming awards, Cornwall was the obvious starting point and 14 years later they are still going strong. The competition in all areas is stronger than ever and the standard of entries are higher than they have ever been across all categories with some outstanding potential winners.

“We look forward to seeing the amazing unsung farmers out there to potentially become Cornwall’s Farmer of the Year 2023. So if you’re reading this and you think you can make it, you could quite simply be that person! All you need to do in enter into the awards and go from there”.

The Addington Fund is indebted to the sponsors and the category entrants who continue to make this event possible. It’s great to have all our previous sponsors returning again this year, supporting the farming community and to mark Cornwall’s stand out contributors in 2023.
