Specialist events company JBE smashes step challenge for charity during 15-year milestone

Specialist events company JBE is celebrating its 15-year milestone with the successful completion of its charity initiative: ‘Step on it with JBE’. The campaign aimed to raise funds for three vital charities - Addington Fund, Refuge, and RSABI - by counting steps walked during three major industry events: LAMMA, Cereals, and the Royal Highland Show.

For every 15,000 steps the JBE team took on-site during the build-up, event days, and breakdown at each event, they pledged to donate £15 to two of their chosen charities per event, setting themselves an ambitious goal to raise a total of £5,400. The company also encouraged others to help raise money via its GiveStar page in support of the steps challenge.

JBE set out to hit 2.7 million steps across the three events, and smashed it with a total of 3,456,079 steps, exceeding their target by 756,079 steps:

LAMMA: 1,526,000 steps (763 miles) – Target: 1,000,000 steps

Cereals: 1,469,229 steps (735 miles) – Target: 1,350,000 steps

Royal Highland Show: 460,850 steps (230 miles) – Target: 350,000 steps

“All that legwork raised £2,350 for Addington Fund, £2,700 for Refuge and £350 for RSABI,” says Jimmy Birchmore, JBE’s founder.

“As we celebrate 15 years of JBE, we wanted to give back to the communities and causes that matter most to us. The ‘Step on it with JBE’ campaign became a fun and meaningful way to engage our team, connect with others at these events, and raise essential funds for these incredible charities. We are thrilled with the support and the results, and we hope everyone who joined us feels proud of the difference made together.”

Sue English, Addington Fund Director says , “The team at JBE have smashed their target and we are very grateful to be one of the charities supported by their legwork! This money will go back into supporting farmers during times of crisis.”
