NFU Mutual Charitable Trust Donates £70,000 to Support Forage Aid Scheme
Addington Fund is delighted to announce that the NFU Mutual Charitable Trust has made a generous donation of £70,000 to support its vital Forage Aid scheme, which provides emergency assistance to farmers across England and Wales during times of crisis.
This funding will directly support farmers affected by bovine TB outbreaks (or other animal disease), extreme weather events, or personal crisis, ensuring that essential supplies of forage and bedding are delivered where they are most urgently needed. For those facing sudden and devastating challenges, Forage Aid can be the difference between recovery and losing everything.
The donation also reflects the continued and valued support of the NFU Mutual Charitable Trust for the wider work of Addington Fund, helping to ensure that the charity can respond swiftly and effectively to agricultural emergencies and personal crises affecting farming families.
Sue English, Fund Director, said:
"We are incredibly grateful to the NFU Mutual Charitable Trust for their continued support and this significant donation. Forage Aid is a lifeline for many farmers who face circumstances beyond their control. Whether it’s a TB breakdown, relentless flooding, or a personal tragedy, our ability to step in quickly with support can prevent situations from escalating into long-term crises. This funding helps us be there at the right time, with the right help."
Addington Fund remains committed to supporting the farming community through practical assistance, housing solutions, and emergency relief. With continued support from partners like the NFU Mutual Charitable Trust, we can ensure that no farmer faces crisis alone.
